Socio-economics in the Basin

   

The Socio-economics of the Orange-Senqu River basin are distinct in the Urban and Rural areas and can be contrasted and compared Upstream vs Downstream. Although the basin states are relatively close in proximity the Distribution of Economic Activity in each state varies greatly.

As shown in the map below, population density is one socio-economic factor that varies throughout the basin.
